Day of Service 2026

The Friends of Cyprus board invites you to come spend a few hours of community volunteering followed by fellowship and celebration on Saturday May 2^nd 2026 from 10am – 1:15pm.

The event will be held at The Beacon:  A robust non-profit with a mission of providing essential and next-step services to restore hope to those experiencing homelessness. The Beacon is located in the heart of Houston at 1212 Prairie St. Houston, TX 77002. Together, we will volunteer in Beacon’s Day Center where we will prepare and serve food for Houston's homeless.

After our volunteer shift concludes at 1:15pm, all volunteers are invited to H-town Brewing Co. located just 3 miles (less than a 10 minute drive) from the Beacon to raise a beer or a soft drink and enjoy lunch together.

There is no pre-registration necessary for this event. Just arriving to volunteer is all that is needed! The first 15 volunteers will work in the kitchen or serve meals. Volunteers must be 13 years of age and up. Parking is free for volunteers.
